Over a year ago, pages started to slip in visits from fans just as Facebook rolled out their “boost a post” feature. The goal, at least from Facebook’s point of view, was to get small businesses to start spending money on driving fans back to their pages. This feature has evolved through the year and Facebook added more options other than post to existing fans to allow for targeting posts to people by age, gender and area.
Now I am excited to say it has gotten even better with targeting by interests. This is my favorite update, because you can post to your page and choose to market that post based on your customers’ interests, such as: fashion, football or event specific interest in brands, like Cartier.
