Are you a developer turned producer?

This role is tailor-made for someone who understands the technical side of development but now thrives in the big-picture view, someone who enjoys refining systems, improving functionality, and ensuring every piece of a web project fits together seamlessly. If you find more satisfaction in reviewing code than writing it, testing for quality over building from scratch, and ensuring team deliverables meet high standards, you’ll feel right at home here.

As TTG’s Back End Web Producer and Quality Control Specialist, you’ll lead our web development team through the full project lifecycle, from scoping and delegation to testing and deployment. You’ll be the primary person for organizing and managing the technical execution of both new builds and ongoing site maintenance across WordPress, Shopify, and other open-source platforms. You’ll translate project needs into clear technical tasks, track timelines and budgets, oversee quality assurance, and ensure internal documentation is consistent and complete. Your role includes assisting your team members and acting as the primary liaison for marketing account managers when they require technical support from the development team.

This is a high-impact role for someone passionate about solving problems, fostering team collaboration, and delivering polished, functional, and client-ready web experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee team of developers, project managers, and implementation specialists.
  • Liaison between the client-facing team and the design/development team. This includes frequent communication with the website architect and project manager, and limited communication with clients.
  • Keep track of project hours, support quotes, and billings, and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders regarding progress hours and potential scope creep.
  • Responsible for ensuring all deadlines are met, projects stay within budget, and goals are achieved.
  • Responsible for quality assurance and testing. Ensure code quality, unit test, and code review to achieve a high level of development. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize current applications and systems.
  • Schedule meetings, prep agendas, and take detailed notes during meetings.
  • Ensure that client information is accurately and adequately maintained in our systems.
  • Responsible for following and updating existing procedures and guidelines while also writing new procedures, house standards, etc., for our web development knowledge base.
  • Accurate time tracking is essential in this position, not only for your own tasks but also for reviewing the time designers and developers spend on their tasks. This ensures transparency and accuracy in client billings.

Job Requirements
  • Educational Background:
    Minimum of an Associate Degree from a college in a relevant field; BS in Computer Science or related degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    At least 3-5 years of hands-on back-end experience with coding, and 2+ years managing teams that build robust eCommerce WordPress sites and Shopify.
  • WordPress Expertise:
    Proficiency with WP Engine and in-depth knowledge of WordPress (including plugin management).
  • Database Knowledge:
    A solid foundation in database structures and experience in integrating systems, such as POS syncs.
  • Omnibug:
    Must have hands-on experience with Omnibug for effective debugging and validation of digital marketing implementations.
  • Checking developer work:
    Must have prior experience checking developers’ work.
  • Analytics Skills:
    Familiarity with GA4 setup, Google Tag Manager, and Search Console.
  • Code Repository:
    Portfolio in GitHub or a similar code repository.
  • Familiarity with UX:
    The focus will be on the back end, but a basic understanding of UX principles will be required.
  • Technology Tools:
    Proficiency in Office 365 (especially Excel), AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity), and Slack. A strong understanding of the digital realm is essential.
  • Additional Tech Skills:
    Experience with Zapier is a bonus.
  • Internet Connection and Computer:
    Given that this is a remote role, a fast and dependable internet connection is a must. For the first 90 days, you will need to have a reliable computer to work on (it must be a computer, not a mobile device).
  • Remote Work Experience:
    Prior experience in a remote work setting is preferred.
  • Location:
    Must be based in the U.S., specifically in the Eastern time zone.
